Since our chatbot is only going to respond to user messages, checking text permissions > send messgaes in the bot permissions setting is sufficient. Here are the step to creating a discord bot account. Go to the discord developer's page, create an application, and add a bot to it.

Select The Create My Own Option.


Creating a bot account is a pretty straightforward process. In the next section, you’ll learn how to make a discord bot in discord’s developer portal. You can check discord's documentation to learn all of the other things you can do.

Head Over To Discord’s Bot Portal, And Create A New Application.


First, we need to create a new application on the discord development portal. Then hook them up to any other api you want. Write code that uses discord’s apis and implements your bot’s behaviors.

Select Your Server And Your Bot Should Join Successfully.


To get started, click new application. Give the bot the proper permissions. Customize your server with a profile picture and a name.

After That, We Need To Select The Bot Tab And Click On Add Bot.


Discord will ask you to enter a name for your new application. Upload the bot to a server. However, this isn’t the bot, just the “application.”

You've now created a discord server and are ready to make a bot for controlling certain activities on it. You’ll want to make a note of the client id and secret (which you should keep a secret, of course). Click on the “new application” button.
